| Vineyard Notes: | At Eos our approach to winemaking is traditional and natural; our methods are decidedly low tech. We allow the soils and climates of each vineyard site to be clearly heard in our wines.
Zinfandel from three different Dry Creek Valley sites; Wolcott (36%), which is planted on benchland with the Mazzocco clone. The Long Vineyard (26%) is from Older Vines planted in the 70’s. Barba Vineyard (17%) from even older vines (50 to 70 years old). Petite Sirah (13%) from Lodi and Syrah (5.5%) from Dry Creek Valley were used for blending. |
| Winemaker Notes: | Bright, Cran-rasberry and crushed black pepper aromas; indicative of non-raisiny Dry Creek Zinfandels with notes of white chocolate and espresso from the oak aging. The flavor has concentrated, raspberry fruit with almost sweet (from the oak) and lush palate with forest floor oak complexities. The finish is soft, and is extremely drinkable and fruit driven with wonderful coffee roast flavors.
This wine is a great match for red meat, such as garlic-rubbed tri-tip with buttery mashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables. This wine is to be drunk in its youth, but will age nicely for about 3-5 years. |
