Our Wine Maker
Nathan Carlson
Director of Winemaking
Growing up in rural Minnesota, Nathan Carlson learned early on about sustainable agriculture. He cites it as a key reason for joining The Eos Estate Winery. “Eos has taken a bold step to become the first large winery in Paso Robles to commit to using only solar power. This fits nicely with my personal commitment to sustainability issues in agriculture, which is an important reason why I am involved in the wine industry.” Nathan has more than 10 years of winemaking experience including being a key member of the winemaking teams at several vineyards throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties and the Dundee Hills of Oregon. Nathan will spearhead the development of future releases from Eos’ own estate holdings in Paso Robles. He is intimately familiar with the region’s climate and weather patterns, which are vital to the quality of grapes and wines in the area. Nathan, who joined the Eos team in April of 2008, is ready to take the next step. “Eos has established a wonderful foundation in its 20-year history. I am ready to take it to the next level to help Eos produce the most sought-after wines on the Central Coast.” Nathan loves the laidback atmosphere of Paso Robles which he refers to as “an idealized wine country.”
